Studying with a disability

Inclusion and accessibility : a commitment for EEMI

Because differences should not be a barrier to learning and professional integration, EEMI promotes the values of ethics, inclusion and accessibility on a daily basis.

This commitment is reflected in :

  • Premises adapted to the specific needs of people with disabilities,
  • The support of a disability advisor,
  • The involvement of a network of partners specialising in disability support,
  • The implementation, in agreement with you, of the adaptations you need.

A campus accessible to all

Each of EEMI’s three campuses – Paris, Orléans and Lyon – ensures that its premises are as accessible as possible for people with reduced mobility, both to reach the campus by public transport and to move around the premises, which are equipped with lifts.

A dedicated contact: the disability adviser

To support you effectively throughout your studies, EEMI has a disability advisor on each campus. Trained in the issues facing people with disabilities, they will be your first point of contact.

As soon as you apply, the EEMI encourages you to get in touch with your future campus’s disability advisor so that we can work with you to define the adaptations your disability requires and draw up a personalised support plan.

Throughout your course, they act as an interface with the sales, administrative and teaching teams, helping to make everyone aware of your needs, while respecting the level of confidentiality you expect, to ensure your well-being during your training and contribute to the success of your studies.

A network of committed partners

The disability adviser maintains close relations with a network of partners specialising in disability support at local, regional and national level. This enables them to help you with all the formalities and redirect you to the structures that can provide you with the help and support you need to succeed in your course and to enter the world of work.

Facilities tailored to your needs

Based on an analysis of your needs, arrangements can be made to ensure that you are comfortable living and learning at EEMI. These can take the following forms, for example:

  • Extra support in finding a company to take on an internship or work-linked training contract,
  • Fitting out of premises,
  • Awareness-raising, information and training initiatives for the campus community (lecturers, staff, students and work-study students),
  • Involvement of students in the class in day-to-day support (sharing notes taken in lessons, logistical assistance with mobility or accessibility)
  • Assistance from specialists to compensate for communication difficulties (interpreter, coder, etc.)
  • Technical/technological assistance: adapted furniture, microphone, specific software, digitisation or printing of course materials, recorder, voice synthesis, Braille display, etc,
  • Adapting the training programme, where possible,
  • Adapting assessment subjects and test durations (lengthening and/or splitting).
